Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor Random Access Memory.A CMOS is a special kind of memory chip that retains its data when power is turned off a long a it receives a small amount of electricity from a battery.In a CMOS, the positive and negative electrical properties of p-type and n-type semiconductors complement each other; a one semiconductor turns on the other turns off.
